About the Author – Will Walton
I started my fitness journey as a skinny endurance athlete, but after years of strength training, I found myself at 106KG—big and strong, but slow and out of balance. I had focused so much on lifting heavy that I lost the athleticism and aesthetics I wanted. In 2022, I set out to create a training style that allowed me to be strong, look good, and still run fast.
That’s when I discovered the Norwegian method of training—a system designed for endurance athletes that focuses on adjusting volume and intensity for sustainable performance. I tested these principles not just for running but also for strength training, refining them to create a balanced approach that maximizes power, speed, and endurance without overtraining or losing muscle.
